The district of Kaş, located at the intersection of the historical Lycian Way and the Carian Way, offers a magnificent experience with its invaluable cultural heritage and natural beauty, as well as Patara Beach and Ancient City, and the charming coastal town of Kalkan, described by Herodotus, the father of history, as "the closest place on earth to the stars." This trip, where we will witness the beauty of nature and enrich our cultural heritage, is an opportunity to spend a wonderful day with family or friends.
TOUR PROGRAM
We will meet you, our valued guests, at 7:00 a.m. at Eşref Girginç Park (across from LC Waikiki) and depart for Kalkan. After a free breakfast along the way, we will depart for our first visit, Patara. We begin our tours in the ancient city of Patara, exploring the historical, cultural, and natural wonders that have led to 2020 being declared the Year of Patara, learning about its beauty and capturing the most beautiful photographs. We'll learn about this ancient city, a port city that preserved its importance both in antiquity and during the Roman era, where you can see some of the most important artifacts from the Lycian Civilization. Afterward, we'll give you free time to fully experience its beauty at Patara Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches not only in Turkey but in the world. During your free time, guests can also enjoy the sea. Patara Beach, one of the places where you'll experience the ultimate sense of freedom, is also one of the most important breeding grounds for the Loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta) and has been the setting for many Yeşilçam films thanks to its beauty. After this delightful visit, we'll depart for Kalkan. After tea and coffee breaks and free time, we'll depart for Kaş. Along this Mediterranean-view road, we'll stop to take photos at Kaputaş Beach, one of the world's most beautiful natural beaches. Afterwards, we arrive in Kaş town center, located just across from Meis Island, Greece's only island in the Eastern Mediterranean, known in ancient times as Antiphelos. Famous for its streets lined with jasmine trees and bougainvillea, Kaş feels like we're in a delightful fairytale. The moment we set foot in Kaş, we'll see the bougainvillea-adorned Uzun Bazaar, Kaş's most famous landmark. What makes this peaceful place, which features on so many postcards, so special is its architecture. Examples of Seljuk architecture can be seen here. At the end of the street is a sarcophagus dating back to the 4th century BC. As you venture out into the streets, you'll encounter delightful scents, tiny souvenir shops, sweet cafes, and charming restaurants. After a short stroll through these streets, you can sit down at one of the charming cafes and enjoy a coffee, unwinding from the day. After some free time in the bazaar, we'll meet at the appointed time and location and depart for Marmaris. We bid you farewell at the same spot we met in the morning, hoping to see you on our next trip. NOTE: Guests over the age of 65 and teachers/students can enter archaeological sites affiliated with the Ministry of Culture free of charge.
