Ankara, the heart of our Republic, Eskişehir, the modern face of art and science, and the Phrygian Valley with its mysterious past… This special route, which brings together history, culture, and nature, offers families with children an educational and enjoyable journey during the semester break. We will experience emotional moments at Anıtkabir, witness the past meet technology at the Rahmi Koç Museum, and feel the spirit of production of the Republic at the Atatürk Forest Farm. As we wander the colorful streets of Eskişehir, we will smile with children at the Fairytale Castle, and capture scenes reminiscent of European cities on the banks of the Porsuk River. As we reach prehistory through the captivating views of the Phrygian Valley, we will touch upon the millennia-old story of Anatolia. We invite all our guests seeking a blend of culture, discovery, and entertainment to join Koral Turizm's special semester-long Ankara–Eskişehir–Phrygia tour.
DAY 1: MARMARIS – ANKARA JOURNEY – ANITKABİR – ANATOLIAN CIVILIZATIONS MUSEUM – RAHMİ KOÇ MUSEUM – ANKARA CASTLE AND OLDTOWN TOUR – HOTEL – DINNER
We meet at Eşref Girginç Park at 12:30 AM and embark on a pleasant journey to Ankara in our comfortable vehicle. After short breaks along the way, we arrive at the heart of the Republic at the first light of dawn. After a free breakfast, we embark on our first visit, where we will witness some of the most special pages of history.
Anitkabir – Journey to the Heart of the Republic
As we travel along the Lion Road, we experience a different feeling with each step. As we enter the presence of the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic, we once again feel the strong connection between the past and the present. After visiting the mausoleum, we visit the Anıtkabir Museum's impressive visual exhibitions, spanning from the War of Independence to the founding of the Republic. This visit marks the most meaningful beginning of our tour.
Anatolian Civilizations Museum – Tracing Thousands of Years of Culture
Located in the Ulus district and awarded the European Museum of the Year award, this unique museum reveals Anatolia's deep-rooted history in a captivating atmosphere. We trace the traces of the past among tens of thousands of years of artifacts, spanning from the Paleolithic Age to the Hittite, Phrygian, and Urartian civilizations. Each hall transports us to a different era in Anatolia.
Rahmi Koç Museum – Science, Industry, and Memories
One of Turkey's most comprehensive private museums, the Rahmi Koç Museum offers a truly captivating experience not only for adults but also for children. We journey through time among classic cars, trains, toys, maritime objects, and engineering marvels. This visit, both nostalgic and educational, proved to be one of the most enjoyable stops of our Ankara day.
Ankara Castle and Kaleiçi Tour – An Afternoon on the Historical Streets
We take a walk through the stone streets of Ankara Castle, one of Anatolia's oldest settlements, blending past and present. As we pass through the bay-windowed houses, we sense the city's authentic atmosphere and, if we wish, take a shopping break in the small handicraft shops. Gazing at the panoramic city view from the castle walls offers the opportunity to capture some of the day's most beautiful photos. After our tours, we return to our hotel and settle into our rooms. DAY 2: I. and II. PARLIAMENT - ATATURK FOREST FARM & ATATURK MUSEUM - MIDAS TUMULUS - ESKİŞEHİR - HOTEL - DINNER
After breakfast at our hotel, we begin our exploration of Ankara. Today, a history-filled route awaits us, stretching from the sites that witnessed the birth of the Republic to the ancient lands of Phrygia.
The First and Second Parliaments – The First Breath of the Republic
In the early morning hours, we visit the first two buildings of the Turkish Grand National Assembly. The First Parliament, opened in 1920, still retains the walls that evoke the faith and resolve of the War of Independence. Then, in the Second Parliament, opened in 1924, we tour the halls that witnessed the proclamation of the Republic. Among the photographs, documents, and podiums of that period, we feel as if we are walking through history.
Atatürk Forest Farm & Atatürk House Museum – The Productive Face of the Republic
Atatürk Forest Farm, a symbol of the Republic's vision of development, is one of the capital's breathtaking districts with its extensive green spaces and historical fabric. We take a panoramic tour of the AOÇ (Agricultural Chamber of Commerce) with our guide's information, and take a short walk if the weather permits.
Afterwards, we visit the Atatürk House Museum, which Atatürk used during his working and resting periods. Here, we see rooms that reflect the great leader's simple lifestyle and the importance he placed on production and agriculture; We experience the Republic's vision of a "productive Turkey" in its most intimate form.
Midas Tumulus – Phrygia's Mysterious Heritage
We depart Ankara around noon and head towards Phrygian lands via Polatlı. Along the way, we learn about the millennia-old civilizations of Anatolia from our guide.
The King Midas Tumulus, with its massive earthen tomb structure, reflects the splendor of the Phrygian civilization. Recently inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, we see impressive traces of the Phrygians' faith, lifestyle, and artistic vision. When closed, only the exterior is available for tours; when open, we also visit the museum interior with our guide. We arrive in Eskişehir in the evening and check into our hotel. DAY 3: WAX MUSEUM – ODUNPAZARI – REVOLUTIONARY CARS – SAZOVA PARK – ESKİŞEHİR HOTEL
After breakfast at our hotel, we begin exploring Eskişehir. Today will be a special day where modern city life meets art, history, and science.
Yılmaz Büyükerşen Wax Sculptures Museum – A Lifelike World
Our first stop of the day is the Yılmaz Büyükerşen Wax Sculptures Museum, one of Eskişehir's iconic landmarks. Here, we see wax figures of many important figures, from Atatürk and artists to scientists and athletes. As we wander among these lifelike works, each seemingly coming to life, we experience the captivating effect art creates when combined with human endeavor.
Odunpazarı – On the Colorful Streets of History
Then, we head to the Odunpazarı district, which reflects the spirit of the city. With its restored Ottoman houses in pastel tones, wooden decorations, and stone streets, this place is a living historical setting. We offer a short free time in this area, filled with handicraft workshops, the scent of coffee, and street musicians. Guests can shop for souvenirs or wander the photogenic streets of Odunpazarı.
Revolution Cars Museum – Pride of Turkish Engineering
We are introduced to the story of the Revolution Car, Turkey's first domestically produced automobile. In this special museum, we witness the great achievement achieved by engineers of the time with limited resources. Seeing the Revolution Car up close is a proud moment, a symbol of domestic production.
Sazova Science, Culture, and Art Park – A Fairytale World for Children and Young People
The most vibrant stop of the day is Sazova Park, considered the heart of Eskişehir. Differently themed areas, including the Fairytale Castle, Pirate Ship, Eti Underwater World, Science Experiment Center, Esminyatürk, and Sabancı Space House, offer moments of discovery for both adults and children. Accompanied by our guide, we explore the park's general areas and then take a group photo in front of the Fairytale Castle. Afterward, you'll have free time to explore your interests. At the end of the day, we return to our hotel, enjoy dinner, and conclude the day with a delightful end. (ESKİŞEHİR ACCOMMODATION) 4* CAPELLA HOTEL
NOTE: The Porsuk River boat trip, included in the Day 4 itinerary, can be included in the Day 3 itinerary to avoid a late return trip on the last day. The tour guide will organize the tour for this visit. (OPTIONAL)
DAY 4: OPTIONAL PORSUK RIVER BOAT RIDE – PHRYGIAN VALLEY AYAZINI METROPOLIS – RETURN TO MARMARIS
After breakfast, we set off for the banks of the Porsuk River, which symbolizes the modern spirit of Eskişehir. Today, we will experience the city's vibrant atmosphere one last time and follow the traces of its thousands of years of history to the Phrygian Valley.
Porsuk River Boat Ride (Optional) – A Breath in the Heart of the City
Guests who wish can join a delightful boat tour on the Porsuk River, reminiscent of European cities. This tour, accompanied by colorful bridges, historical buildings, and cafes lined up along the shore, is one of the most elegant ways to bid farewell to Eskişehir. With the guidance of our guide, guests can also take a short walk along the river.
Phrygian Valley & Ayazini Metropolis – Silent Witness to Thousands of Years
We depart Eskişehir and set off for the Phrygian Valley. In this fascinating landscape, dating back approximately 3,000 years, we discover the rock-cut monuments, burial chambers, and traces of ancient settlements of the Phrygian civilization. In Ayazini Village, considered the heart of the valley, we explore the rock-cut houses and chapels, opening the doors to an ancient world intertwined with nature. During our guided walk, we hear stories ranging from the Phrygians' belief system to their artistic approach. For photography enthusiasts, this is a virtual open-air studio—the magic of the rock textures, light, and silence is palpable in every frame.
After this impressive visit to the Phrygian Valley, we begin our return journey. After short breaks along the way, we arrive in Marmaris in the evening. After four days filled with history, culture, and exploration, we bid farewell with new friendships, beautiful memories, and a feeling of "I'm so glad I came."
