URLA ARTICHOKE FESTIVAL

We invite our valued guests who love roads and journeys to explore Urla, one of the paradise corners of the Aegean, where a fifty-kilometer coastline meets the sparkling blue sea and where traces of history still accompany you. Our aim is to discover the magnificent artichoke festival and the most beautiful places of the region together, capture the best moments, and create wonderful memories. Although our specially selected “Sakız Artichoke” is known as a vegetable, it is actually an unopened flower bud. Unique to the Urla Peninsula, this early-growing variety with smooth and not too tightly packed leaves is a perennial plant with purple flowers. With its countless health benefits, the artichoke—named after “Cynara,” the woman loved by the Greek god Zeus—invites you once again to Urla with the heart it hides within its leaves. TOUR PROGRAM

We meet at 07:00 in the morning at Marmaris Eşref Girginç Park (opposite LC Waikiki) and set off towards İzmir. After a free breakfast break along the way, we continue our journey and arrive at Şirince for our first visit. Known for gaining fame during the Mayan apocalypse scenarios in 2012, Şirince has become one of the most visited tourist destinations in the region. We begin our tour accompanied by the pleasant scent of mountain thyme, strolling through its streets that resemble a movie set with our guide, visiting the Churches of St. Dimitrios and St. John, and making wishes at the wishing well. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore Şirince at your own pace, famous for its wines, cobblestone streets, and Greek houses. You can try local specialties such as elderberry syrup or enjoy Turkish coffee brewed in hot sand. Afterwards, we arrive at the Urla Artichoke Festival area, where you will have free time. During this time, you can watch workshops conducted by famous chefs and taste delicacies prepared by local people. After enjoying the festival area, we begin our return journey to Marmaris. Following a free dinner break, we arrive back in Marmaris and drop you off at your original pick-up points, saying goodbye and hoping to see you again on another tour.
