We have prepared a special program to provide you with an unforgettable holiday on Chios Island. Are you ready to take a journey into the past in ancient medieval villages and explore the entire island with a professional team?

TOUR PROGRAM

DAY 1: MARMARIS – ÇEŞME TRANSFER – ÇEŞME–CHIOS CATAMARAN JOURNEY – CITY CENTER – NORTH ISLAND TOUR – HOTEL

We meet our valued guests at 02:00 at Eşref Girginç Park (opposite LC Waikiki) and depart for Çeşme Port, the departure point of the Çeşme–Chios ferry services.

We arrive at Çeşme Ulusoy Port around 08:00 in the morning and, after ticket and passport procedures, board our ferry. After an approximately 30-minute journey, we arrive on the island and meet our guide. Following customs procedures, we place our luggage in our waiting vehicle and begin discovering Chios Island, the hidden treasure of the Aegean.

Together with our guide, we visit the Chios bazaar known as Aploterya, the Mecidiye Mosque commissioned by Sultan Abdülmecid, and Vounaki Square, the largest and busiest square on the island. Afterwards, we visit Chios Castle, which was built during the Byzantine period and later served as the administrative center of the island during the Genoese and Ottoman periods, and examine the Ottoman monuments inside.

After our visits in the center, we start our North Island tour. Our first stop will be the four windmills by the sea known as Tabakika, one of the most important symbols of the island. The historical windmills were used to draw water for the leather tanneries that gave the area its name. In recent years, with the contributions of the municipality, they have been restored and have become a popular photo stop that all visitors make sure to see. After our photo break here, we continue our tour.

Our next stop is Daskalopetra, the area where Homer, the most famous poet of ancient Chios, introduced the Iliad and the Odyssey to world literature. This large rock was turned into a school by his students in the 6th century BC. This impressive site will make you question the lifestyle and artistic understanding of thousands of years ago.

We then head to Langada, the island’s cutest fishing village, where we will have our lunch break. At the classic Greek taverns by the sea, you will have the opportunity to taste traditional mezes, classic Greek dishes, and the freshest seafood. On our return, we take a photo break at Agios Isidoros Church, one of the island’s symbolic spots, located on the sea. It is believed that the story of mastic started with this Saint.

After completing our North Island tour, we proceed to our hotel.

DAY 2: FULL DAY FREE TIME / OPTIONAL WEST ISLAND TOUR & SYRTAKI NIGHT

On the second day of our tour, we offer our guests a full day of free time. During this time, you may plan your day as you wish and enjoy shopping, harbor walks, swimming, etc. Guests who wish may optionally join the West Island Tour and the Greek Night entertainment in the evening. Participation in extra tours will be finalized before the tour departure. Program details are as follows:

WEST ISLAND TOUR: After breakfast, we take our seats in the vehicle and head towards Nea Moni Monastery, built nearly a thousand years ago and once the most important religious center of the entire Aegean for centuries. This monastery has been declared a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. We then visit Anavatos Village, which was considered the most protected village on the island for centuries, and learn about its tragic history. Afterwards, we head to Avgonima Village for lunch.

On the return route, we visit Kambos, one of the most interesting and special villages on the island, famous for its magnificent mansions from the Genoese period (14th–15th centuries) and medieval architecture. Here, we will take a coffee break in the garden of a beautiful mansion from ancient times. This mansion also serves as a museum that tells the history of the island’s famous oranges since the Genoese period. With this visit, we complete our West Island tour and return to our hotel.

TOUR FEE: 25.00 € (Transportation + guiding service)

DAY 3: SOUTH ISLAND TOUR – ARMOLIA – MESTA – PYRGI VILLAGES – FREE LUNCH – CHIOS PORT – ÇEŞME JOURNEY – ÇEŞME – MARMARIS TRANSFER

After breakfast, we take our seats in the vehicle and begin our tour towards the villages in the south of the island, known as Mastichahoria, which holds the monopoly on mastic production worldwide. Our first stop is Armolia Village, famous for its handmade ceramics for centuries, where we take a short break to visit one of its well-known ceramic workshops.

We then continue to Mesta, one of the island’s most popular villages, known as the labyrinth village. With its magnificent medieval architecture and the impressive Taxiarchis Church, one of the most important churches on Chios Island, you will feel lost in time during our visit to this ancient medieval village. Like other villages, Mesta was built to protect against pirate attacks, with only two entrances and exits, which were closed in times of danger to ensure security. After our visit, we reach the village square and enjoy a coffee break.

We then head to the fairytale-like Pyrgi Village. Pyrgi is one of the most frequently visited places on the island, with its narrow streets reflecting the Middle Ages and its houses built adjacent to each other to protect against pirate attacks, decorated with a special plaster technique. We believe you will admire the geometric patterned houses of this village, where you will feel as if you are traveling through time.

After completing our village visits within the South Island tour, we go to a seaside tavern for lunch. Here, guests may choose from a menu consisting of various seafood dishes and mezes.

Thus, we complete our Chios Island program and head to Chios Port to board our ferry. After an approximately 30-minute journey, we return to Çeşme Port. After completing passport procedures, we meet our waiting vehicle and driver at the port and depart for Marmaris. With the happiness of having experienced something different and discovered another island, we arrive in Marmaris around midnight. We drop you off at the points where we picked you up and say goodbye until we meet on another tour.
