Didim Altinkum

Didim Altinkum

An informal and carefree beach holiday-even the name means Golden Sand
With its wide stretches of golden sand lapped by the sparkling clear waters of the Aegean, it is little wonder that life in Altinkum revolves around the beach.Stretching from the small harbour at one end of the bay to a rocky headland at the other lay two beaches and over one kilometre of sand, where lazy days can be passed soaking up the sun, refreshed by cooling sea breezes.Should the urge to be active suddenly possess you, then try your hand at waterskiing, windsurfing,or just a sedate pedalo trip around the bay. Sun,sand and sea aren t the only attractions however,as just 4 kms from Altinkum lies the site of the Temple of Apollo at Didyma. The sheer size of the still-standing columns is both aweinspiring and testament to the ingenuity of ancient civilisations, while,at ground level, the site is strewn with fallen remnants of history, probably the most infamous of which is the snake adorned head of Medusa. Altinkum s charm lies in its relaxed and informal atmosphere which extends into the well established nightlife.Strolling along the seafront reveals a multitude of bars and restaurants where, true to the resort s delighfully laid back style, the action centres around cafe-bars and lokantas rather than discos, although it can get quite lively, particulary around the central Dolphin Square.http://www.transfersturkey.com Transfer from Adnan Menderes Airport to Didim Altinkum approx. 2 hrs. 30mins.
